Litmaps CEO & co-founder Axton Pitt speaks with Fiona Rotherham. Litmap co-founders Axton Pitt, Digl Dixon and Kyle Webster know first-hand as students the frustration with the available tools and equipment that scientists use to navigate academic literature. Webster has been quoted saying while part-way through his PhD in molecular biology he was trying to find a way to move his field forward and “having a novel contribution to research literature was part of what was necessary – I was looking for the tools to help me but everything available seemed kind of rubbish at the time.” The three friends put their heads together and set up Litmaps in late 2020 which has built a new search engine to navigate science.
